Safety By Design in our Industry
Construction is one of the most dangerous industries to be involved in.
According to the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration, there were 1,008 deaths in the construction industry in 2018. The top four incidents that resulted in more than half (58.6%) of deaths were falls, object impalement, electrocution and construction workers caught in or between objects.
There were 338 falls, 112 object impalements, 86 electrocutions and 55 incidents of construction workers caught in/between or crushed in collapsing structures, equipment or material that have caused fatalities.
